According to Deadline, actor Andy Serkis confirmed that he will reprise the iconic role of Alfred Pennyworth in the highly anticipated sequel “The Batman – Part 2”. The main obstacle would be aligning Serkis’ schedule between the filming of the new Warner Bros. movie, “The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum”, and the Batman production, but sources indicate that the timeline will be adjusted without major issues.
In an interview with Collider, Serkis said he is confident that everything “will work out” and that the team is already moving forward with preparations. When speaking with Screen Rant, he revealed that he will not appear on screen immediately, but that “by the end of the year I will already be there”. Director Matt Reeves, alongside Robert Pattinson, will begin shooting in London starting in June, with a release scheduled for October 1, 2027 in Warner Bros. cinemas.
The first film in the series, released on HBO Max in March 2022, grossed US$ 772 million worldwide and showed a Bruce Wayne immersed in the darkest shadows of Gotham, fighting crime alone. Now, with Serkis back in the Batcave, fans are eagerly awaiting the new challenges Alfred will bring to the Dark Knight.
