Apple Studios has moved forward with preparations for the prequel series that explores the past of the Monarch franchise: Legacy of Monsters. The plot centers on the young Colonel Lee Shaw, a Monarch agent, who will be placed on a covert mission set in 1984, during the Cold War. His task: infiltrate enemy lines to prevent the Soviets from unleashing a newly awakened Titan, capable of causing mass destruction in the United States and altering the global geopolitical landscape.
Filming is slated to begin in June, with the Czech capital, Prague, serving as the primary setting. Actor Wyatt Russell, known for Thunderbolts, will reprise his role as Lee Shaw, and there are rumors that Hiroshi Randa and Dr. Suzuki will appear in supporting roles tied to the story’s timeline. Joby Harold, who has worked on Obi‑Wan Kenobi and Army of the Dead, will take on the role of head writer and executive producer, alongside his wife and creative collaborator Tory Tunnell, for Safehouse Pictures. The series’ second season is already available in the Apple TV+ catalog, receiving positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.
