Peter Dinklage, known worldwide for Tyrion Lannister, has been confirmed as a new cast member of ‘Alien: Earth’, the science‑fiction series created by Noah Hawley. The announcement, released by SffGazette, indicates that the actor will take on a central role in the second season, which began filming in May.
Dinklage joins the project as the plot expands beyond the isolated island of the first season, exploring corporate politics and the struggle between humanity, hostile nature and uncontrolled technology, as Hawley described in an interview with Empire. “It’s like that moment when Dustin Hoffman runs out of the church and hops on the bus; now the ships arrive and the problems multiply,” the showrunner said.
The series, set three decades before Ridley Scott’s classic, shows humans, cyborgs and synthetics coexisting under the domination of the Prodigy corporation, while the Xenomorphs threaten Earth after the collision of the USCSS Maginot. The cast also includes Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis and Adarsh Gourav, cementing ‘Alien: Earth’ as the main expansion point of the franchise on TV. Hawley also hinted at the possibility of a crossover with ‘Predator’, keeping fans’ expectations alive.
