Trailer of ‘Personas’ reveals secret operation against drug trafficking in Netflix’s new series

Netflix today released the official trailer for ‘Personas’ (also known as ‘Legends’), its latest criminal suspense series based on true events. The premiere is set for May 7. Created by Neil Forsyth, author of ‘The Gold’, the story is set in the early 1990s, when the British Crown Customs and Excise faced a growing flow of drugs across the borders. To curb the problem, a team of civilian staff was recruited for an ultra‑secret mission: to infiltrate the most dangerous drug‑trafficking gangs in Great Britain. These agents, without espionage training, were given new identities – the so‑called “personas” – and were inserted into the criminal underworld. The cast includes names such as Steve Coogan, Tom Burke, Hayley Squires, Aml Ameen, Jasmine Blackborow, Douglas Hodge, Tom Hughes and Johnny Harris. Forsyth wrote the script, while Brady Hood and Julian Holmes direct the six episodes of the first season. The series promises to immerse the audience in the tensions of infiltration and the moral dilemmas of those living double lives.
