Shortly after its screening at CinemaCon, the official teaser for Godzilla Minus Zero was released by TOHO in partnership with the North American distributor GKids. The film, a sequel to Minus One, continues to focus on the Shikishima family, but brings a major development: the titanic monster will leave Tokyo to also attack New York, appearing next to the Statue of Liberty.
The cast includes Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe, who return alongside director Takashi Yamazaki, now using IMAX technology to enlarge the scale of the scenes. In the plot, Koichi Shikishima tries to rebuild his life with Noriko and the young Akiko, but peace is shattered when Godzilla returns even more powerful and an ancient threat awakens near Mount Fuji. The hero will be forced to join forces with former allies and the US‑Japan alliance to protect his family and confront the monsters.
Godzilla Minus Zero premieres in Japan on November 3 and in the United States on November 6, with no confirmed release date for Brazil yet.
