Apple TV launched on Wednesday (the 15th) the series “Margo Is in Trouble”, which follows the life of Margo Millet, a college student who discovers she is pregnant by her professor and finds herself without financial or family support. The storyline follows Elle Fanning in the role of the protagonist, who must reinvent her existence while still attending classes.
To make ends meet, Margo turns to the internet, creating content for an adult platform and turning her digital presence into her primary source of income. Her father, Jinx (played by Nick Offerman), a former wrestler who left the spotlight, reappears and influences Margo’s decisions, while her mother, Shyanne (Michelle Pfeiffer), puts even more pressure on the young woman amid the chaos. In addition to acting, Elle Fanning also produces the series alongside her sister Dakota Fanning, with Nicole Kidman on the production team. The cast also includes Greg Kinnear and Michael Angarano. Based on the eponymous novel by Rufi Thorpe (2024), the adaptation was written by David E. Kelley, known for “Big Little Lies” and “The Undoing”, and directed by Dearbhla Walsh, Kate Herron and Alice Seabright. The production is a partnership between A24 and Apple Studios, and is already available in the Apple TV catalog.
