The creator of the series ‘Euphoria’, Sam Levinson, shared an unusual request from actress Sydney Sweeney, who returns as Cassie Howard in the new phase of the production. In an exclusive conversation, Levinson explained that, unlike typical contract or production demands, Sweeney is focused on the character’s psychological evolution, wanting Cassie’s emotional imbalance to reach new extremes. “She called me before I started writing and said, ‘Do me a favor, make sure Cassie is even more out of control’,” the director said, promising even more explosive performances for the third season.
The new season takes place a few years after the end of the high‑school storyline, bringing notable changes to the protagonists’ paths. Rue (Zendaya) faces dangerous debts, Jules (Hunter Schafer) continues in art school, Maddy (Alexa Demie) tries to establish herself as a talent agent, and Lexi (Maude Apatow) works as a production assistant. In addition to the main cast, the season will feature appearances by Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, and filmmaker Eli Roth, bolstering the supporting cast. The second episode is scheduled to air next Sunday, April 19. The series, created by Levinson and inspired by the 2012 Israeli production, continues to explore themes such as drugs, sex, identity, trauma, and social‑media relationships, always from the perspective of Rue, the drug‑addicted teenager.
