Adria Arjona joins the cast of The Man of Tomorrow and doubts arise about her role

Puerto Rican actress Adria Arjona officially confirmed her participation in the upcoming DC Universe film, The Man of Tomorrow, slated for 2027. Although the production has already revealed that the character Maxima, the warrior queen of Almerac, will be part of the story, Arjona’s presence has reignited speculation about who she will actually portray.

On her Instagram, Arjona shared a photo of fellow cast member Isabela Merced, known as Hawk‑Woman, celebrating their third collaboration together. The caption read: “Third movie together! And I’m already ready for the fourth.” The post does not explicitly mention Maxima, which fueled the theory that the actress might be donning the iconic cape of Wonder Woman.

Fans have noted that director James Gunn has been avoiding answering questions about a possible casting of the Amazon Princess, keeping the mystery alive. The Man of Tomorrow will bring together David Corenswet as Superman and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, who are expected to join forces against the cerebral villain Brainiac, portrayed by Lars Eidinger. The theatrical release is set for July 7, 2027, as part of DC Studios’ “Gods and Monsters” phase.

Meanwhile, the solo Wonder Woman film is in development, with writer Ana Nogueira at the helm, and is considered one of the studio’s priorities.

Production on The Man of Tomorrow is set to begin in the coming weeks, confirming Arjona’s presence in the main cast.
