During the latest edition of CinemaCon, Paramount revealed that it is developing a new film in the World War Z franchise. No details yet on whether it will be a sequel, prequel, or a reboot, but the studio promised to bring more information to the public soon.
The idea of a sequel had already been considered in 2019, when director David Fincher was slated to lead the production. However, the plan was abandoned a few days before filming began due to disagreements over the budget.
The first feature, released in 2013, follows former UN agent Gerry Lane as he fights to contain a zombie pandemic that threatens to topple governments and armies around the globe.
