Lionsgate announced that the new film exploring the youth of John Rambo, starring Noah Centineo, has arrived at Imagem Filmes, which will be responsible for national distribution. The production is slated to reach Brazilian cinemas sometime in 2027, according to the distributor’s official statement on social media.
Set several years before the events of “First Blood” (1982), the film delves into the origins of the Vietnam War veteran, revealing how he became the iconic combatant. Sylvester Stallone, the creator and original portrayer of Rambo, returns as a producer and may appear in a cameo, although this has not yet been confirmed.
The direction is handled by Jalmari Helander, known for “Sisu”, and the screenplay was written by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani, the team behind “Black Adam” (2023). The combination of a young cast led by Centineo and Stallone’s experience promises to attract both longtime fans and new viewers.
Stay tuned for upcoming updates and mark your calendars to watch Rambo’s prelude in theaters in 2027.
