The new franchise title, Pokémon Champions, officially arrived on the Nintendo Switch and already brought a series of challenges to the competitive community. A few days after launch, players reported issues ranging from the battle interface to communication with the Pokémon HOME service. The Pokémon Company confirmed that it is developing a patch that should resolve these issues and improve the overall experience.
Among the main critical points is the connection failure when sending creatures to Pokémon HOME, which prevents transferring Pokémon between services. Additionally, mechanical bugs were identified in Mega Evolutions, especially the action order when two Pokémon mega‑evolve in the same turn.
The list of planned fixes includes:
– Resolution of communication errors with Pokémon HOME;
– Adjustment of the damage text for the move Leech Seed, which should indicate 1/8 of max HP instead of 1/16;
– Correction of the action order of Mega Evolutions in simultaneous turns;
– Update of gender for some Pokémon in the tutorial;
– Proper functioning of the ability Lightning Rod when affected by Encore;
– Repairs to the battle interface that prevented move selection after cancelling the Mega Evolution preview with the B button.
Pokémon Champions focuses on the competitive scene, bringing back the popular Mega Evolutions in a format designed for online tournaments. The goal is to offer a unified experience for both veterans and newcomers.
So far, no release date has been set for the patch, but the development team is working to make it available as soon as possible. The game remains exclusive to Nintendo Switch.
