The mangaka Kei Urana, responsible for the Gachiakuta series, expressed on social media her admiration for the anime adaptation of Witch Hat Atelier, released on April 6. Urana highlighted the quality of the animation produced by studio BUG FILMS, known for Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, stating that the work has “film quality”. “The Witch Hat Atelier manga was already exceptionally amazing from the start, but the anime also has film quality, right?”, the author wrote.
In response, Kamome Shirahama, creator of Witch Hat Atelier, thanked the compliment and returned the affection. Shirahama wrote: “Urana‑sensei, this is the first time I’m greeting you directly. I have always admired the strength of each Gachiakuta panel, especially the design of the clothes and weapons, which are irresistible!”. She also emphasized how much she appreciates the visually rich world that Urana draws.
The exchange of messages between the two artists reinforces the synergy between manga and anime, celebrating the joint effort that elevates the fans’ experience. Both works remain available on streaming platforms, with subtitles and dubbing in Portuguese, and the second season of Gachiakuta is in production by studio BONES.
