Warner Studios confirmed that the spin‑off focused on the witch Gladys, introduced in “The Hour of Evil” (2025), will hit theaters on September 7, 2028. The announcement was made at CinemaCon, where the company revealed that director Zach Cregger will not helm the production, as his next project, the science‑fiction film “The Flood”, will be released a month earlier, on August 11, 2028.
Although he will not direct, Cregger remains tied to the Gladys universe by co‑writing the script alongside Zach Shields, known for his work on “Godzilla vs. Kong”. The creator of the original film will also serve as producer of the spin‑off, which currently carries the provisional title “Gladys”. The story promises to delve into the witch’s origin, who siphons children’s vital energy to turn them into weapons, expanding the lore established in “The Hour of Evil”.
Fan anticipation is growing as more details about the cast and the film’s aesthetic are revealed, reinforcing Warner’s strategy to keep the franchise universe active in the coming years.
