Ridley Scott’s new production, *The Dog Stars*, has released its first official stills. The feature presents a landscape devastated by a deadly pandemic, where pilot Hig (Jacob Elordi) survives in an abandoned air base, finding companionship in his old plane and his dog.
The story explores what keeps people fighting when everything seems lost, tackling themes of hope and renewal amidst destruction.
The cast includes names such as Josh Brolin, who plays the cautious Bangley, Margaret Qualley as the optimistic doctor Cima, as well as Guy Pearce and Benedict Wong. Ridley Scott links the characters’ struggle to memories of his own childhood during the bombings in England, emphasizing that the focus of the narrative is on human resilience rather than just chaos. Produced by 20th Century Studios with a budget of US$ 100 million, the film promises immersive visuals and an intimate approach. The Brazilian theatrical release is slated for August 27.
