# New phase for *Heartstopper Forever*
Netflix has confirmed that actress Olivia Colman will not appear in the film version that will conclude the *Heartstopper* series. The role of Sarah Nelson will be played by Anna Maxwell Martin, while the rest of the main cast remains confirmed.

– **Sarah Nelson**: originally portrayed by Olivia Colman in the first two seasons, the character will be recast with Anna Maxwell Martin.
– **Derek Jacobi**: will make a special appearance in the film, adding another heavyweight name to the project.
Creator Alice Oseman explained the decision in a statement to Tudum, highlighting gratitude for Colman’s performance and the difficulty of choosing to replace the actress rather than removing the character from the story.

– **Yasmin Finney**, **Will Gao**, **Corinna Brown**, **Kizzy Edgell**, and **Tobei Donovan** also return.
– The official title of the feature will be *Heartstopper Forever* and, although it does not yet have a release date, it will mark the conclusion of Charlie, Nick, and their friends’ journey.
The series, available across three seasons on Netflix, follows the characters’ discovery and acceptance of their identities, beginning when a shy boy meets the popular classmate and gradually develops a romance.
