Netflix has secured the adaptation rights to the acclaimed National Book Award‑winning novel “The Corrections” by Jonathan Franzen, intensifying the race for original content among streaming platforms. The production will feature the iconic multiple‑Oscar‑winning actress Meryl Streep as the matriarch Enid, who tries to bring her three children together for one last family Christmas.
Franzen will take part in the screenwriting, while award‑winning writer Cord Jefferson, known for “American Fiction” and “Watchmen”, will direct all episodes of the miniseries. Streep will also serve as an executive producer alongside Jefferson, Mark Roybal, Paul Lee and Nicole Clemens. The story promises to explore, with sharp humor, the frustrations and ambitions of three adult siblings who struggle against their mother’s wish to keep the family together during the holidays.
Details about the number of episodes or the premiere date have not yet been released, but the combination of an award‑winning literary novel, a heavyweight cast and an experienced creative team is already generating great anticipation among fans of family drama and high‑quality adaptations.
