The actress Olivia Munn, known for roles such as in “Predator”, revealed an uncomfortable episode she experienced during the filming of an as‑yet‑undisclosed project. She said that while shooting a combat scene in which her character, an elite agent, had to protect a male character, the actor beside her refused to accept the situation in which he would be saved.
“In some productions I play CIA agents or police officers, and there are moments when my character saves the other. The script was clear that he would protect his side while I defended mine, and then we would switch positions to face the enemy”, Munn told Variety.
On the day of shooting, the colleague apparently hadn’t read the script and, upon realizing he would be rescued, exclaimed: “Wait, wait! She can’t save me!”. The reaction caused a stir, with the actor halting filming for about 45 minutes to discuss the scene with the director, not hesitating to voice his complaints to everyone on set.
To resolve the impasse, Olivia proposed a small change to the choreography: instead of a direct rescue, she suggested the characters swap positions tactically, allowing the threat to be neutralized in a way that wouldn’t bruise the colleague’s ego. “After almost an hour of pause, I suggested: ‘How about, instead of me saving you, we swap places now?’. He agreed and the shoot could continue”, she concluded.
Munn kept both the actor’s identity and the production title confidential, but the account highlights how differing interpretations of a script can generate unexpected friction behind the scenes.
