The actor Jared Padalecki, known for his role in Supernatural, officially confirmed the character he will play in the fifth season of The Boys, available on Prime Video. Episode five of the new season serves as a kind of Supernatural reunion, as Jensen Ackles appears as Soldier Boy and Padalecki and Misha Collins also join the cast. In a video released recently, Padalecki joked: “I can finally speak. We filmed a year ago, in April 2025. I thought Jeff Bezos would send a SWAT team after me, but that’s okay, I am Mr. Marathon.”
In the comics, Mr. Marathon is a speedster who preceded the Bullet Train among the Seven, but died in an accident involving an airplane and Captain Patriot, paving the way for the Bullet Train. He is a parody of the original Flash, Jay Garrick. In the series, the name has already been mentioned by Ashley Barrett, indicating that the character was part of the Seven before the main events, although his departure has never been explained.
Eric Kripke, creator of The Boys, stated that Padalecki and Misha Collins will portray figures with twisted moralities in this new phase of the storyline. The episode featuring these appearances is scheduled to air on April 29.
