Fans of the 007 series remain eager, but Amazon MGM Studios made clear that it is still pending who will wear the iconic suit. In an interview at CinemaCon 2026, Courtenay Valenti, head of cinema at the company, said that the production is being handled with the utmost respect for the franchise’s legacy and that the official announcement still has no scheduled date.
Valenti revealed that the next film will feature a “heavyweight team”, including visionary director Denis Villeneuve, known for Dune, and award‑winning writer Steven Knight, creator of Peaky Blinders. In addition, producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman, along with executive producer Tanya Lapointe, are already on board.
Although the cast is still being selected, names such as Jacob Elordi and Callum Turner have emerged in rumors as possible candidates to replace Daniel Craig. The project has the provisional title of “Bond 26” and the release is slated for the second half of 2028.
Amazon MGM emphasized that, by combining one of the most beloved franchises in history with world‑class talent, the goal is to deliver a film that honors James Bond’s tradition and surprises the audience. More details will be released when the production is ready to move to the next phase.
