The fourth season of ‘Invincible’ continues to be released weekly on Prime Video, bringing a striking change compared to Robert Kirkman’s comics. The hero Tech Jacket now appears as Zoe Thompson, replacing the male character Zack Thompson from the comics. Kirkman explained that the alteration was made to avoid visual and narrative similarities with the protagonist Mark Grayson, allowing new character dynamics to be explored.
The creator also highlighted actress Zoey Deutch’s performance, who brings Zoe to life with energy and charisma, making the animated version even more captivating. Co‑showrunner Simon Racioppa reinforced the team’s enthusiasm, praising Deutch’s professionalism and humor, who quickly adapted to the tone of the series.
Another novelty that generated buzz on social media was Zoe’s reduced age, appearing younger than her comic counterpart. A brief scene with Oliver Grayson fueled speculation about a possible romance, further deviating from the original canon, where Oliver ends up married to the alien Haluma. This choice reinforces the series’ trend of subverting expectations, pleasing both new viewers and longtime fans.
‘Invincible’ remains available on Prime Video, while the creators already indicate that the fifth season is nearly completed.
