Warner Bros. has confirmed the production of *Gremlins 3*, slated to premiere on November 19, 2027. Among the first revelations, insider Daniel RPK reported that actress Jenna Ortega, known for *Scream 6*, has been cast as the main female character of the new adventure.
The chosen director is Chris Columbus, writer of the franchise’s first film and famous for works such as *Home Alone* and *Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone*. The series’ original creator, Joe Dante, will not be involved in this installment, which may disappoint the more nostalgic fans. Zach Galligan, who played Billy in the first two titles, is also expected to return to the cast. The plot is set to revisit the chaos caused by the gremlins after the violation of the three classic mogwai rules, once again bringing the blend of horror and humor that defined the series. While the project is still awaiting final approval, the franchise gained momentum with the animated series *Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai*, released on HBO Max in 2023 as a prelude to the original story.
The return of iconic characters and the new direction promise to revitalize the saga for a new generation of viewers.
