Filmmaker Antoine Fuqua, known for his work on “Training Day”, is at the helm of the highly anticipated biopic of Michael Jackson. The feature‑film, which stars Jaafar Jackson – the pop king’s nephew – in the lead role, also features Colman Domingo, Nia Long, Miles Teller, and Laura Harrier in the cast.
According to information released by Embargo Lifts For…, the first reactions on social media will appear on April 10 at 3 p.m. (Brasília time). The full reviews, in turn, will be published on April 21 at 10 a.m. Both dates follow the embargo set for the U.S. audience: April 10, 11 a.m. PT/2 p.m. ET for social media comments and April 21, 6 a.m. PT/9 a.m. ET for detailed critiques.
The film premieres in U.S. theaters on April 24, with the Brazilian release slated for April 23. Lionsgate already has enough material for a sequel, but the continuation will depend on the box‑office performance of the first part. If the film achieves audience success, the studio plans to move forward with sequel plans.
