During CinemaCon, Paramount officially announced that it is developing a feature‑film based on the iconic first‑person shooter franchise. The release date has been set for June 30, 2028, marking the first time the saga hits the big screen after several failed attempts. The project will be led by director Pete Berg, known for action works such as “The Great Hero” and “Battleship”, and will feature a screenplay written by Taylor Sheridan, creator of the series “Yellowstone”.
The production will be carried out in partnership with Activision, the game developer now under Microsoft’s umbrella. Although plot details have not yet been revealed, the expectation is that the film will explore the military universe that has made the series so popular since its 2003 launch. This initiative is part of Paramount’s strategy to expand the “Call of Duty” universe into film and television, following the success trail of other recent adaptations such as “Sonic: The Movie”, “Super Mario Bros.: The Movie” and the upcoming “Minecraft: The Movie”.
The premiere is slated for the summer of 2028, promising to bring the same adrenaline to the big screen that players experience on consoles.
