Jake Schreier Leads the X-Men Reboot in the MCU and Announces New Writing Duo

The director Jake Schreier, known for “Thunderbolts”, has been confirmed to helm the highly anticipated cinematic reboot of the X-Men, now in development within Marvel Studios. In an interview with Collider, Schreier revealed that the original writer Michael Lesslie, responsible for “Macbeth: Ambition and War”, was replaced by the creative partnership Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo.

Lee Sung Jin, creator of the series “Treta”, and Joanna Calo, author of “The Bear”, had already collaborated on the second season of Jin’s series, as well as working together on the first season of “Thunderbolts”. “They’re back and already outlining the script, which is extremely exciting”, the director said, praising Jin’s ability to turn interpersonal dynamics into expansive narratives – a crucial element for revitalizing mutants on screen.
